Molecular Biology protocols, utilities and oddities
Green Web Hosting
Welcome to my homepage. I'm working on it during my spare time, so please, bear with me if it's not ready yet.
No, I'm lying. My Host is not using anymore the software I used to make these pages, so now I'd have to export it all to Concrete5 or Wordpress. I don't have time to do it, so it'll stay like this for a while :/
If you find reference to a protocol here, and I didn't upload it yet, please contact me and I'll send it to you.
This site is a collection of protocols and curiosities that I hope you'll find useful.
All the protocols have been tested by myself personally - they're what I use routinely, or what I used successfully in the past. I'm eventually uploading the same protocols in OpenWetWare, but that's a Wiki, and I'm reserving this space to document my personal way of doing things.
About the curiosities... well, those might not be as useful everyday, but who knows... possibly somebody else, somewhere, might want to run agarose gels in an empty tips rack too.
My PhD thesis was focused on identifying the genes involved in novel chromosomal rearrangements in leukemia, and this is still my research focus today, so that's what most protocols are aimed at. Just to say, the midiprep protocol is "tuned" to purify BAC or PAC DNA, which are single-copy, high-MW plasmids to be used as probes in FISH.
I hope you'll enjoy my website. If you want to send me a message, use the Contact page. If you want to leave a public comment, feel free to sign the guestbook.
Thank you!
Roberto (a.k.a. "Ruffo")
